About the Role:
Care First Recruitment Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority for a Programmed Work Caretaker to join the Estate Services Team.
This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining clean, safe and welcoming housing estates. You will play an important part in delivering high-quality estate services, supporting residents, and ensuring communal areas meet the Council’s standards.
Flexible Working Pattern (Monday–Sunday, including evenings)
Full UK Driving Licence Required
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out deep cleaning of internal and external communal areas.
- Clean bin stores, bin chambers and remove graffiti as required.
- Remove bulky waste items and fly-tipped rubbish from housing estates.
- Undertake communal window cleaning up to the third floor.
- Use cleaning equipment, machinery and products safely and effectively.
- Drive Council vehicles and transport equipment between sites.
- Report environmental issues and estate defects to relevant departments.
- Liaise with residents, contractors and Council teams to support estate improvements.
- Maintain cleaning equipment, machinery and vehicles in good working order.
- Provide cover across different estate service teams as required.
What We’re Looking For:
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Experience in caretaking, cleaning, estate services, grounds maintenance or a similar role
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, flexible and proactive approach to work
- Understanding of health and safety procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Working Environment:
You may be assigned to one of the following teams:
- Deep Cleaning Team
- Fly-Tipping Removal Team
- Window Cleaning Team
Successful candidates must be flexible and willing to move between teams according to service requirements.
