Care First Recruitment Ltd are currently recruiting for MALE Support Workers with extensive experience in Autism & Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
Please note the role will be based in Newham (East London).
The service users will predominantly be male, and this is the reason why we will only consider candidates of male gender for this specific role/client.
Job Purpose:
Support Workers provide emotional and practical support to individuals and their families who have difficulties living independently because of health issues, emotional problems or relationship difficulties. The service users have Autism, and/or Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
Support Workers will work with clients who have lifelong difficulties, therefore a high level or experience and empathy are required.
It is important that you have a genuinely caring nature, and the willingness to help individuals with very complex learning needs, as well as the ability to prioritise your workload. It is common that an individual will be under the care of a multi-disciplinary team, so your ability to pass information effectively on to other team members is essential, as well as writing accurate and timely reports.
Essentials:
Good level of English Literacy
Able to understand and follow instructions and Policies
Able to use initiative
Organisational skills
Good written/verbal communication skills
Able to work as part of a team
A non-discriminatory approach
NVQ Levels 3 in Health and Social Care or Relevant
You are required to have a minimum of 2 years’ experience
You will need to pass a background checks by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), and an ENHANCED DBS certificate will be needed, which can be obtained through our agency by registering with us.
