Pay Rate: £13.77 p/hr

 

About the Role:

We are currently recruiting for Kitchen Assistants to support the provision of catering services within Enfield Council facilities. The successful candidate will assist in preparing and serving food while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation and cooking of food.
• Support the delivery of a high-quality catering service.
• Maintain cleanliness within kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Follow food storage procedures, including stock rotation.
• Complete daily cleaning records and other required documentation.
• Adhere to all food hygiene, health and safety, and infection control procedures.
• Assist with washing up and general kitchen duties as required.

 

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience within a catering, kitchen, hospitality, or food service environment.
• Valid Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
• Understanding of food hygiene regulations and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to read basic written instructions and complete simple forms and records.
• Awareness of food storage, cleanliness, and stock rotation procedures.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Verified photo identification required.

 

Health & Safety Requirements:

• Knowledge of Food Hygiene Regulations.
• High standards of personal presentation and hygiene.
• No jewellery or nail polish permitted whilst working in the kitchen.
• Successful candidates must complete pre-employment health screening.

 

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

Candidates must provide:

• Overall/work clothing suitable for kitchen environments.
• Sensible footwear with non-slip soles (essential).
