Care First Recruitment are currently recruiting for a female ‘Passenger Assistant’, with a reliable and caring personality. The route will cover: Imperial Wharf, Hounslow Central and the Hatton Cross areas of London.
Location: The route covers the London areas of Imperial Wharf, Hounslow Central and the Hatton Cross.
Contract Type: Temporary, but ongoing for the right candidate
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4 hours pay per day (= 20 hours pay per week)
Salary/Rate: £13.50 per hour
About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable, punctual and caring Passenger Assistant, of female gender, to accompany a young female service user who is a wheelchair user and of frail health.
Key Responsibilities:
This role requires the Passenger Assistant (PA) to:
- Go in the MORNINGS, Monday to Friday, to the service user’s home address/street to collect her, to accompany her to college
- The schedule is for the whole of the academic year (Sep 2026, to July 2027)
- The PA will never go inside the service user’s home address, as this is a kerb-to-kerb service. This means collecting the service user from the building’s main entrance door, and assisting her to board a taxi (pre-booked/pre-paid)
- A taxi will be provided by the Council to transport both the Service User and the Passenger Assistant (PA) to the College. Upon arriving to the College the PA will hand over the Service User to a member of school staff. After this, the driver will leave, and the PA can go away, and the morning shift ends here
- Go in the AFTERNOONS, Monday to Friday, to the service user’s College, and collect her from that address, to accompany her back to her home address
- School staff will bring the Service User out of college and into the street, where the PA will collect her and assist her to board the taxi provided by the Council.
- Upon arriving to the home address, a parent will come to the street to collect the Service User from the PA, and once the handover is completed, the driver will leave, and the PA can go away, and the afternoon shift ends here
- Service User’s needs:
- Please, note the Service User you would be supporting is a female, young adult student, who is a wheelchair user and has frail health.
- We need a punctual PA, who will be reliable to commit to this job for the duration of the academic year, starting September 2026, until July 2027.
- A PA with a calm character and caring personality will be ideal, to offer a reassuring and dignified journey to the service user, who may find distressing having to travel each day.
- The PA shall be able to assist with pushing a light wheelchair from the home/school doorway to the kerb where the taxi will be, therefore a very little distance. The driver will assist loading the wheelchair into the vehicle, and both school staff and parents will take the wheelchair out of the buildings.
- Schedule:
Monday to Friday, from September 2026 to July 2027, during term time. Please note that the service user will have holiday periods such as school Half-Terms, Christmas, Easter and the Summer holiday
- Pay:
- Hourly rate: 13.50 per hour (PAYE)
- You will also earn a separate Holiday Pay (accrued holiday per) for every hour you work
- This role is 4 hours’ pay for each full day (2 hrs for the morning and 2 hrs for the afternoon)
- Youl will be working less than 4 hrs with the service users each day, likely just 1.5 hrs to 2hrs, but you will still get paid 4 hrs.
