Family Contact Supervisor – Bedford
£16 per hour (PAYE)
Care First Recruitment Ltd is currently recruiting Family Contact Supervisors to work in Bedford, supporting children and families during supervised contact sessions.
This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in safeguarding children and ensuring their wellbeing during contact arrangements.
About the Role
As a Contact Supervisor, you will observe and supervise contact sessions between children and their parent(s) or guardian(s). These sessions take place when a child has been placed in the care of the local authority due to safeguarding concerns.
Sessions may be held in a designated contact centre or within the community. You will ensure that each session is conducted safely and in line with the local authority’s instructions, with the child’s welfare always being the priority.

Key Responsibilities
-
Work as part of a team to facilitate centre-based and community-based contact sessions

Supervise, observe, and accurately record contact sessions, prioritising the child’s safety and wellbeing
-
Take appropriate action to safeguard children and parents, intervening or terminating contact where necessary
-
Support children and young people in managing expectations around contact

Produce clear, factual, and comprehensive reports following each session

Use IT systems to complete documentation

Immediately report any child protection concerns in line with safeguarding policies and procedures

Attend staff or team meetings as required
Requirements
-
Practical experience working with children, young people, and families
-
A qualification within the social care sector (preferred)
-
Strong observational and report-writing skills
-
Ability to remain calm, professional, and objective in potentially sensitive situations
-
Right to work in the UK
-
Satisfactory references covering the last 5 years
-
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
