About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Duty Careline Officer to join our Careline service. This role is vital in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable residents by responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, providing reassurance, and coordinating appropriate responses.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming Careline calls promptly and professionally
- Assess situations and respond appropriately to emergency and non-emergency alerts
- Provide calm reassurance and clear communication to service users
- Liaise with emergency services, responders, family members, and other professionals
- Monitor alarms, equipment, and systems in line with procedures
- Accurately record all calls and actions using Careline systems
- Follow safeguarding, data protection, and health & safety procedures at all times
Essential Requirements
- Experience working in a care, call handling, or customer service environment
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Strong IT skills and ability to use call-handling systems
- Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding principles
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays
Desirable
- Experience within a Careline, Telecare, or monitoring service
- Knowledge of adult social care services
- First Aid or safeguarding training
